Maldives

A Diver’s Paradise!

The Maldives contain over three quarters of the entire world’s reef fish species. Most of these are accessible by snorkeling near the beach. You will not be disappointed when you go diving in the Maldives!

Ari Atoll, Maldives

Scuba diving is probably the most popular activity in the Maldives – and why not? It’s one of the premier locations in the world to dive. The atolls contain some the most abundant ocean life you’ll find anywhere. The water is clear so visibility is excellent. Water temperature is also comfortably warm throughout the year.

What you might see:

  • Grey reef sharks
  • Zebra sharks
  • Whale sharks
  • Manta rays
  • Wrecks

When to Go
Premier scuba diving time is January – April as this is when the sea is most calm and visibility at its best.

The Maldives are one of the higher priced places to visit, this is because of its reputation and exclusiveness as a diving and exotic location. Boat dives cost around $50-$75 depending upon the resort you are staying at and whether or not you have your own gear.
